The Wild Robot Escapes by Peter Brown

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Wild Robot Escapes is second book in the Wild Robot series by Peter Brown. In the first book, Roz the robot finds herself on a secluded island. This time, she finds herself on a farm and basically works as an appliance or tool to help the farmer and his children with farm duties. Roz forms relationships with the farm animals just as she did with the island animals, but she longs to see her son, Brightbill, again. Word has spread throughout the animal kingdom of a robot who raised a gosling, and many are surprised to find out it's not just a story - the robot and gosling do exist!

With the help of others, Roz manages to escape the farm to reunite with her son. The Wild Robot Escapes details that adventurous journey and the challenges she faces along the way - not just among animals, but this time, humans. Though just a machine, she teaches us what it means to live a life of compassion and love, to resolve problems without escalating them, and to recognize how our actions have consequences, not just for ourselves, but for others, even those we will never know.

I loved this book even more than the first one, and my guess is that if you liked The Wild Robot, then The Wild Robot Escapes will not disappoint. I definitely recommend it to anyone delighted by the story of Roz and Brightbill.
